Marathia Star is a fabulous family owned, traditional restaurant located in the area of Marathia (Keri).
It is situated just above the sea offering an amazing view towards Marathia island.
Surrounded by olive grooves and a beautiful garden it is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a beautiful dinner or lunch.
It is perfect for families since the kids can safely run around and play in the garden.
The cuisine of the restaurant offers really Zakynthian dishes. In fact the food served in the tavern is as close you can get to the food cooked by a Zakynthian family.
The chef is the mother of the family and the majority of the ingredients used for the dishes are produced by the same family.
The restaurants offers a variety of Greek dishes including dishes for vegetarians.
We strongly recommend to try stewed rapid which is considered to by one of the traditional Zakynthian dishes.
For starter try fried aubergine cooked with organic olive oil and garlic....amazing
We also recommend the grilled choices where you get a variety of fresh meat and fish dishes.
It worth while mentioned that just a few hundred meters a way there is an access to the sea. There is no sandy beach but if you like a rocks and deep waters it is the perfect place.
The sea is crystal blue and near by you can even find some sea caves. It is also perfect for snorkeling. The place is quite remote and is perfect for a relaxed swim before going for your meal.
