Volimes

Volimes is the 'capital' of the villages in the mountainous region of the island! You will find yourself enchanted by the stunning natural beauty full of dense vegetation, golden cornfields, olive groves, pine forests, vineyards, beautiful interwoven coastline, turquoise sea, and steep cliffs. Volimes is made up of two small villages, there is 'Upper Volimes' a small picturesque village where you can admire the traditional architecture, narrow streets and old stone church and bell tower, and 'Lower Volimes', Xigia, Makris Yialo and Saint Nikolaos beaches are all located within this region. While here you can visit the Askos Stone Park which has a wide variety of animals all living free in their natural environment or you can visit the church Agia Paraskevi which has inside some amazing paintings.  At 'Lower Volimes' you can also take a small boat to visit the blue caves and shipwreck, and then finish of your day by enjoying a meal at one of the tavernas here and watching the sunset.
