The Gulf of Laganas consists of a long sandy beach which also connects to Kalamaki beach and at the point where the two beaches merge back off the beach there are some small sand dunes and a small forest of pine trees.

Directly across from the beach of Laganas you will see the small island 'Marathonisi' of which you can reach by boat, kayak or canoe.

The vegetation of Laganas cape can be divided in the following 3 categories:

2.Vegetation of rocky coastal ecosystems

3.Vegetation of brushwood and evergreens shapings
