Helmis Natural History Museum

Prepare yourself for a beautiful, wonderful journey with colours, aromas and a lot of nature. The Helmi's Natural History Museum is the only Natural History Museum in Zakynthos. 3,000 samples await you and allow you to marvel at the beautiful, natural heritage of Zakynthos and other regions of the planet. In both rooms you will see everywhere an evident message of the awareness to the environment with collections from birds, fish, shells from the seven seas of the world, plant and animal fossils and rocks and minerals that of which have disappeared from the earth. The aim of the museum is to inform visitors of the natural heritage of Zakynthos, to become more familiar with the main ecosystem of the island, to advise of routes you can take on the island and to learn about the life on earth and the oceans of the five continents. The museum is considered one of the most promising establishments of its kind in Greece and the Balkans. On the top floor you can sit back, relax and enjoy a coffee while gazing over the valley of Zakynthos.
